FORSHEE FAMILY PLOT
Hyattville, Big Horn County, Wyoming
N 44 15.803 W 107 32.562
This family plot is on a private ranch near
Hyattville. Ask permission to visit!
From downtown Hyattville, drive
3.5 miles northeast on the Cold Springs Road until you reach the Rea Grove
Lane. Proceed south, crossing the creek over the wooden bridge and up the
hill. Bear left and enter the gate to the ranch house.
You will need assistance to locate this spot. The
plot is .5 miles from the ranch house on a hillside overlooking Paintrock
Creek. To the east is the hovering, majestic presence of the Big Horn
Mountains. To the north are the remarkable red bluffs that mark the
entrance to the State of Wyoming Archeological Site and Indian pictographs.
In the trees along the creek are wasp nests as big as basketballs, and
Sharp-shinned Hawks spaced apart like sentinels. Numerous other birds and
critters are residents here. The beauty of this spot is remarkable.
Surrounding it is the ranch and all its activities.
There is one grave at the present time. It is marked
with a nice headstone, and nearby, plants and trees have been added by family
members. It is protected by orange livestock panels, as requested by its
occupant. When you ponder how hard the work was, you appreciate such a
nice resting place.
